You can't win them all.

When I decided to change my chameleons terrarium over to a more humid tropical, I guess I got a little too wet with it. I'm now dealing with a sort of rotting affect, its almost more of a swamp that I created. Its starting to draw gnats. This weekend I need to break it all down and start all over again.

Giving the bearded dragons a bath

I saw that Sydney was shedding so I gave them a bath while I cleaned there cages tonight.

The California king snake in her desert terrarium

This is a nice looking temporary enclosure until she gets big enough to live in a sterilite container on some sort of rack system Ill get later.

This is a video I made with a web cam.

This was a quick video I made the night I started this blog. I wanted to get a video of the boas in there container and on there shelf.

Well that puts you up to date with my reptile world.

I satrted this blog January 19th. I will post more as my reptile world grows. This is record for me mostly to keep track of my reptiles progress in breeding and also to learn from any mistakes I have made. If you have any suggestions or comments let me know I want to do the best I can in this herptoculturel advocation. Thanks Tom McGlone

Sydney loves his new environment.

The wood chips and moss are much better for the dragons.

Feeding time at Tommys zoo

I feed the dragons and chameleons the same thing at the same time. They get fresh greens and meal worms in a dish with either a calcium dust or a multivitamin dust on the salad. I do this 3 times per week, and they get crickets every day and I supplement those as well when I feed the greens.

I later changed the dragons environment to a more woodland enclousre.

I realized that most of there diet was greens I did some research and found that they live in more of a woodland areas of Australia.

At first I kept them in a desert terarium.

They looked like a creature that you would find in the desert. So i kept them in a sandy enclosure.

My bearded dragons.

I got Sydney last summer and later I found Alice at a pet store in Louisville Not a pet store I would normally go to. she was in bad shape when I found her.

I thought the Chameleons were Gravid (pregenant)

My have jumped the gun on my chameleons being gravid from when I had them together the first time. I put them together in January and he mated with her I do not believe she would have let that happen if she was gravid. but I could be wrong. cross your fingers.

my knigsnakes first meal at home.

She is eating good right off the bat.

My new female desert phase California kingsnake.

She is real pretty. I got her at the shelbyville Kentucky reptile trade show. I am looking for a 2007 born male with larger white bands to breed with her.

Jim and I built A shelf to hold the boas containers.

I'm still working on it. I need to put a top on it and paint it. But for now it keeps my snakes where I can access them easy and they get some light.

I kept the boas in containers under my bed at first.

These sterilite plastic containers make great snake enclosures.

Then I found Knot at Pets Galore.

I had to found a male to breed with Shurley. He was a nice looking guy, a bit small, but I thought he would make a good daddy.

My buddy Kevin found this great redtail boa in his wood pile.

We named her shurley, as in surley that's not a boa constrictor.

The enclousre Jim and I built for my Vield Chameleons.

I built this enclosure this summer with my buddy Jim. I is a 4 foot tall cage on top of a 29 gallon aquarium, that sits on a iron stand with a store bought cage on a 20 gallon aquarium.

Here are the chameleons geting some steam from the shower.

This was last august. I think they were still kept in the same enclosure at that time.

the chameleons when I first got them

This is how small they where when I first got them home. I purchased them in April of 2007 from Pets Galore on Grinstead av in Louisville KY.
